You may be aware of all the toxic chemicals you're exposed to on a daily basis, whether those chemicals are in your food, your make-up or skincare products, or the cleaning products you use.
But what about the toxins that are in products to which your kids are exposed?
Many retailers sell edible and cosmetic toy products that include harmful ingredients. Specifically, the Toys-R-Us "Totally Me" brand contains some of the worst ingredients in the cosmetic toy market.
These ingredients include known cancer-causing chemicals, such as parabens, fragrances and artificial colors.
To be sure, most retailers don't have chemists on staff. But, many are fully aware their products are harmful, but to save a buck, they disregard the danger.
A whopping 1100 chemicals are banned in Europe, whereas in the U.S. there are only 11 banned ingredients.
What's even more frustrating is that these retailers know that there are cleaner options for these products are available, but only choose to remove harmful ingredients if the product is to be sent to a different country.
While the U.S. kids suffer, the nice, safe, clean products are being shipped overseas..
In this segment, beauty expert, David Pollack, joins Andrea and Lisa to share the specific chemicals you need to look out for, as well as what you can do as a consumer to demand a change.
