Another Study Links Pesticides to Autism
In this segment, mom blogger and leader of Mamavation, Leah Segedie, is back on Naturally Savvy to share more about what's going on in the food industry, as well as other hot topics in the world of healthy eating.

Yet Another Study Links Pesticides to Autism

Previous studies have linked children with autism and autism spectrum disorders with pesticides. Now a new study also suggests that mothers who live near fields where pesticides are used are more likely to have children with autism or some level of the spectrum.

This is the third study that has specifically linked pesticides exposure during pregnancy with autism.

School districts have even seen links between areas of pesticide exposure and lower intelligence levels.

With this emerging evidence, the hope is that legislators and other government officials will start to take this correlation seriously.

More Evidence of GMOs Negative Effects

You may recall the study, conducted by scientist Gilles-Eric Séralini, a professor of molecular biology at France's University of Caen, that showed the effects of GMOs on rats. His research suggested a correlation between GMOs and higher rates of cancer and increased infertility.

The Food Industry went after Séralini, and eventually his findings were pulled from scientific journals. But, new evidence has just been republished with additional findings of liver and kidney damage from eating GMO corn.

It is yet to be determined how this new research will play out, but one thing is certain: the Food Industry will pull in the big guns to combat the allegations.

Tune in to Leah, Andrea and Lisa to learn more about what's happening in the world of natural health and healthy eating.
