A study recently published in JAMA Internal Medicine showed that back belts and shoe insoles don't prevent back pain.

And, gadgets like these aren't relieving low-back pain, which affects 80% of adults at some point in their lifetimes.

Researchers in the recent JAMA study found that exercise reduced the risk of repeated low-back pain in up to 40% of participants in the year following an episode.

Stretching also helps with back pain. Massage can ease pain issues. There are also herbs and supplements that specifically relieve the body's inflammation and muscle tension associated with the pain: vitamin D, bovine tallow oil and passion flower.
