High Five Highlights:

  • In your book title, why the reference to the Wizard of Oz and the ruby slippers? In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy realizes that everything she needed was on her feet all along. So the book is how we can look inside ourselves to find the answers and live the best we can. We have the all the power we need within us.
  • Best advice she was ever given: Use whatever gifts you’ve been given to make a difference in the world.
  • What gives her inspiration everyday: Her cockapoo dog, who on a daily basis reminds her to live in the moment.
  • Her favorite quote: “Experience is not what happens to you, it’s what you do with what happens to you.” Also, the serenity prayer which says: “Understand what you have control over, let go of what you can’t control and fully embrace and act on what you can control.”
  • As a therapist, what does she think could be easily fixed in our human race: This is a complicated question, but if we could teach parents to talk to their children in loving ways, that would go a long way in eliminating many problems later on.
