The United States has smart minds and a great healthcare system. Ironically, the U.S. also has the highest disease burden on the planet.

Fortunately, there are simple tweaks you can make to your diet and lifestyle to help your genes and reduce your risk for diseases.

It’s best to get your key nutrients directly from your diet. Spices can also help you heal your body.

Turmeric is a root that is used in cooking, especially in Asia. Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric. It's been shows to be able to prevent disease and reduce risk of cancer.

Curcumin reduces inflammation. High levels of inflammation can turn off genes that control chronic disease and cancer. Curcumin is also antimicrobial and is a potent antioxidant.

In the end, reducing your consumption of processed food and increasing the delicious spices in your diet will improve your overall health and wellness.

Choosing the Right Curcumin

No two curcumin extracts are alike. It isn’t absorbed very well into the body, so you have to find a supplement that has enhanced absorption. Consider using BCM-95 curcumin. The process used to prepare BCM-95 curcumin is very natural. The supplement isn’t coated with a synthetic lipid or fat. Instead, it's coated with essential oils that are contained in turmeric. Look for something as natural and as wholesome as possible.

Suggested use is to take 200-300 mg each day, roughly 100 mg per meal for healthy individuals. You can increase the dosage up to two to three grams per day if you are facing disease. Be sure to speak with your physician before embarking on this kind of treatment regimen.

Listen in as Dr. Ajay Goel shares how curcumin can improve your health and reduce your risk of chronic disease and cancer.
