Ted Spiker kicked off the Sub-30 Club as an online community for runners of all shapes and sizes. His personal goal was to run a 5K in under 30 minutes, so he invited his blog followers to join the challenge.

Not every runner matches the stock image photo for “runner.” The Sub-30 Club runs the gamut, from very experienced marathon runners to beginners. No matter the skill level, members encourage each other to attain personal goals and work through personal obstacles.

Decide on a goal for your running. Every individual has a personal goal. Buddy up with someone if you need the motivation to get moving.

Most importantly, don’t push yourself too hard. The desire is to be as fast as possible when starting. This puts you at risk for injuries.

Listen as Ted joins host Lisa Davis to discuss how running is for everyone, how to get started, and the importance of support.
