Fermented Foods
Fermentation is the process in which a substance is broken down into simpler substances. Yeast and bacteria are typically part of the process.

Adding fermented foods to your diet may produce health benefits. Everything we eat could potentially be fermented. People around the globe enjoy some form of fermented foods.

You needn’t be scared of fermenting your own food. The United States Department of Agriculture shows no documented cases of health problems traced to fermented vegetables. Fermentation is a strategy for food safety. Salt is frequently used to cultivate the right bacteria in fermentation.

Listen as fermentation expert Sandor Katz joins Dr. Susanne Bennett to discuss how fermented foods can benefit your wellness.
