In his book, Smart Fat, Dr. Steven Masley explains how you can eat fat to prevent heart disease, improve memory, and lose weight.
A key component of following Dr. Masley's approach includes incorporating his four "food groups" into your daily diet.
These food groups include:
1) Smart fats: nuts, nut oil, olive oil, dark chocolate, seafood, avocado, coconut oil (five servings a day).
2) Fiber-rich foods: vegetables, fruits, beans and nuts (10 servings a day).
3) Clean protein: pasture-raised, grass-fed/grass-finished animal protein, as well as wild fish (5 servings a day).
4) Flavor-rich foods: spices and herbs.
