Build Collagen Naturally & Achieve Beautiful Skin

Collagen is a protein that serves as a key structural component of the connective tissue in your skin, bones and ligaments.

This protein is responsible for keeping your nails, teeth, hair and skin strong. The outer layer of your skin, the dermis, contains large amounts of collagen.

As you age, collagen slowly breaks down and your skin’s ability to replace the lost collagen diminishes, leading to wrinkles.

Have you heard of active collagen?

Active collagen contains a marine ingredient composed of collagen and elastin polypeptides and has the same ratio of collagen that is naturally found in skin. Active collagen can increase moisture levels and fight free radical damage that causes aging in your skin.

There is also another collagen supplement, Collagen Plus, that rebuilds the protein found in your skin.

How do you know which collagen products to use?

There are so many options of collagen supplements that all promise the same thing. However, you want to be sure that there is strong research backing up the supplement.

Lorna Vanderhaeghe, MS, joins Andrea Donsky, RHN, and Lisa Davis, MPH, to discuss why collagen is so important, what age you should be taking the supplements and which supplements to use to help prevent aging in your skin.
