Esmat PictureDr. Tiffany A. Esmat earned her Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University. She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Certified Health Fitness Specialist, Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer and with the American Red Cross as an instructor in CPR/AED and First Aid.  She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Exercise Science and Sport Management at Kennesaw State University.  Her current line of research involves the examination of the relationship between fitness and cognition.

    You've carried your baby for several months. Now that she's here, you couldn't be happier to see her beautiful face.

    Once the two of you settle into a routine, you'll probably be ready to start losing the weight you gained during pregnancy.

    From the moment the baby weight starts to accumulate on our bodies, the scheming begins about how to drop the pounds once the little one arrives. After your baby is born and your days gradually begin to regain somewhat of a routine, it’s time to put your ideas into action.

    If you’re not sure exactly how to begin, we have great ways to start  working your way back to your pre-pregnancy body - or even better! A pedometer senses your body motion and counts your footsteps. This count is converted into distance by knowing the length of your usual stride. Wearing a pedometer and recording your daily steps and distance is a great motivating tool
